Location:

Situated on the Bay of Muros and Noia, Portosín is the closest harbour to Santiago de Compostela.

Approach:

Landmarks: Monte Louro (forked shape summit) to the N of the bay.

Aproximación: Coming from the S: Pass 3 M off Cabo Corrubedo (Fl(2W+3R)20s30m15M) (R sect.347º-040º) until it is due E, then head 020º towards Punta Queixal (Fl(2+1)12s25m9M) aligned with Monte Louro (241m), order to avoid two groups of rocks, Banco Las Basoñas and La Balla. Leave the rocky islet of Leixoes 1 M to the N and turn into the bay. Coming from the N: Pass 5 M to seaward of Punta Insua (Fl.3.W.R.020s) to avoid the Bajo de los Meixidos shallows and the Los Bruyos group of rocks 3 M to the W of Punta Queixal. Leave Punta Carreiro and Punta Queixal at 0,75 M to the N to avoid the rocky islet of Leixoes.

Access: Stay in the middle of the bay. About 6 M off the entrance, Isla Quiebra can be seen against the N shore (42º46′.4N-008º57′.8W) Fl(2)7s5m8M and Portosin opposite to the S. There is a passage of 160 m between the N point of the Pesquero mole (42º45′.9 N-008º57′.9 W) Fl(2).G.5s7m3M and W end of the E mole (42º45′.9 N-008º56′8 W) F.é.r.2s7m3M.

Dangers: Bajo Miñoteira, Fl(2+1)G.15s1 M must be avoided especially at LW.
